About Nakanosaku Kō Old East Breakwater Lighthouse
A red concrete post measuring 7.5 meters in height marked the entrance to the old inner harbor of Nakanosaku. This structure, first lit in 1935, was attached to a square, single-story concrete equipment shelter. It emitted two white flashes. The lighthouse stood on the east breakwater of the old inner harbor and had a geographic range of 26 nautical miles. It was destroyed by the tsunami in 2011 and officially declared obsolete in April 2016.
