Location & Light Range
About Mimai Saki Lighthouse
This lighthouse was built in 1976 as a two-stage round concrete tower with a double gallery. It stands 10 meters tall with the light positioned 73 meters above sea level. The light emits an isophase white flash every 6 seconds, visible for 21.8 nautical miles. Situated on a sharp promontory about two-thirds of the way along the north side of the Sadamisaki peninsula, it marks this significant coastal feature. The site is open to visitors, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for guiding maritime traffic around the Sadamisaki peninsula and warning vessels of the sharp promontory it occupies.
