This cylindrical brick tower, painted white, stands 16 meters tall and was built in 1874. It is situated on a bluff about 1.5 km north of Lowestoft harbor, overlooking Sparrow's Nest Park. The station itself was established in 1609, with Trinity House taking over administration and building a new light that same year. This light was subsequently replaced in 1628 and again in 1676. The current lighthouse emits a white flash every 15 seconds, visible for nearly 17 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
