Also known as: Low Islets Lighthouse
Constructed in 1874, the Low Isles Lighthouse first illuminated the waters in the same year. The white tower reaches a height of 20 meters, with its focal plane also situated at 20 meters above sea level. Its light, which flashes in white, red, and green, provides a geographic range of 17 nautical miles. This structure has been a navigational aid in Queensland's Far North for nearly 150 years.
Why it matters: The lighthouse is recognized for its heritage significance and is listed on the Commonwealth Heritage List.
