About Le Croisic Lighthouse
Also known as: Le Croisic (Jetée de Tréhic)
Constructed in 1874, Le Croisic Lighthouse is a cylindrical tower built of granite and stands 12 meters tall. It is situated at the harbor entrance in Le Croisic, France, at the end of a breakwater. The lighthouse exhibits a white or green light with a single flash every 4 seconds, visible for 11 nautical miles. During World War II, the structure sustained damage but was repaired and received a new lantern after the conflict. The tower itself is not open to the public, but the breakwater leading to it is accessible.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the western side of the harbor entrance and is essential for guiding vessels into the port of Le Croisic.
