The La Colombier lighthouse, built in 1860, is a stone keeper's house painted white, standing 7 meters tall. Initially, its light shone from a circular window on the seaward side of this dwelling. The active light is now shown from a small skeletal tower placed in front of the house. This lighthouse has a geographic range of 14.9 nautical miles and displays an occulting white light, with four flashes every 12 seconds. The keeper's house was repainted in 2021.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks local waters above the waterfront in Saint-Quay-Perros and aids navigation for vessels approaching the harbor.
