This concrete lighthouse, standing 11 meters tall, marked the original end of the west breakwater at Hirasawa Kō. The structure featured a white, post-style tower rising from a square, single-story equipment room. It emitted a green flashing light every 4 seconds. The lighthouse was an 11-meter focal height structure and had a geographic range of 11 nautical miles. Its operational life concluded in 2009 and it has since been demolished.
Why it matters: The lighthouse was indispensable for ensuring safe passage for ships navigating Hirasawa Port, warning them of the original west breakwater.
