This cylindrical concrete lighthouse, built in 1975, stands 15 meters tall with its light at a focal height of 26 meters. It displays a white light with one flash every 5 seconds, visible for 14.5 nautical miles. The tower features red and white horizontal bands and is topped by a lantern room and a double gallery. It is attached to a single-story concrete equipment building. While the site is open to visitors, the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: The lighthouse illuminates the Todo Shima reef northeast of the facility, a hazard for vessels navigating the west side of Hamaonishibetsu port.
