The light emits a single white flash every 5 seconds, with a geographic range of 10.4 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, but the tower cannot be entered. It is located in the Beagle Gulf, about 40 kilometers west of Darwin.
Why it matters: This light marks the southern approach to the Beagle Gulf, a significant waterway, and warns mariners of the Fish Reef hazard.
