About Cassis Main Lighthouse
Built of unpainted stone, the Cassis lighthouse is a cylindrical, white tower standing 8.5 meters high. Established in 1840, it marked the western entrance to the Cassis harbor. This structure served mariners for 75 years before ceasing operations in 1915. It is located on the west side of the harbor and its nearest port is La Ciotat, 4.5 kilometers away. The lighthouse has been under private ownership for over a century.
