About Capo Cefalù Lighthouse
Constructed in 1913, the Capo Cefalù Lighthouse stands on a steep slope on the eastern side of Cefalù, along Sicily's northern coast. The lighthouse features an octagonal masonry tower that rises from a two-story keeper's house. This structure is painted white and is topped with a gray metallic dome. Its white light flashes once every 5 seconds, visible for 22.6 nautical miles. The lighthouse complex is operational, with the site open to visitors, though the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for guiding vessels approaching the historic port of Cefalù and marking the eastern edge of the town's headland.
