About Camaret-sur-Mer Lighthouse
This round masonry tower, built in 1883 and standing 10 meters tall, is located at the end of the old breakwater, marking the north side of Camaret harbor. Originally painted entirely green, it was later repainted white. The lighthouse ceased operation in 1964, and its lantern was removed. For a time, a green triangular daymarker was installed, but this has since been removed. The tower's focal height is also 10 meters.
Why it matters: The tower historically marked the harbor entrance for Camaret, a port on the French coast.
