About Rozi Lighthouse
Also known as: Rozi (Rojhi)
The Rozi Lighthouse, a round cylindrical stone tower standing 13 meters high, was built in 1867 near the fortified Rozi Mata temple. Its exterior features horizontal black and white bands. Originally, the light was a mast atop the stone structure. This tower was part of a bastion at the temple's northwest corner. The light was later updated in 1897 with a cast iron pedestal and a 6th order Fresnel lens. In 1976, the light was moved to the new Rozi Pier, 1.2 kilometers from the nearest port of Bedi.
Why it matters: The lighthouse's original construction near the Rozi Mata temple fortifications shows the historical integration of defense and navigation. It guided vessels approaching the significant port of Bedi.
