The Pointe Ouest lighthouse is a 12-meter square skeletal tower with a gallery, first lit in 1925. It stands on the westernmost point of Île de la Gonâve, warning vessels approaching the 60 km long island. The light emits a white flash every 15 seconds from a focal height of 85 meters, providing a geographic range of 23.2 nautical miles. This structure replaced an earlier lighthouse that had a lower focal plane. The station is located within the commune of Pointe-à-Raquette.
