About Baisajia Lighthouse
Baisajia Lighthouse, first lit in January 1901, stands as a red, square structure. Originally a double-layer brick tower, it was damaged by Allied aircraft during the Pacific War and subsequently reduced in height to 27.7 meters after repairs. The lighthouse emits a white or red light, with a characteristic of one white or red flash every 20 seconds. Its focal height reaches 37 meters, providing a geographic range of 4 nautical miles. The site was opened to the public in September 2013.
Why it matters: Designated a national historical monument in May 2021, Baisajia Lighthouse preserves a significant part of the region's maritime past.
