Ports Directory — Global Port Database
Ports Directory
Global port data & vessel specifications
This directory covers 20,559 ports across 236 countries and territories, each identified by its UN/LOCODE — the five-character code maintained by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) as the international standard for trade and transport locations. UN/LOCODEs consist of a two-letter country code followed by a three-character location identifier (for example, USLAX for Los Angeles, SGSIN for Singapore, NLRTM for Rotterdam).
Each entry in the table shows the port's UN/LOCODE, country, port type (seaport, marina, offshore terminal, or other), regional subdivision (ISO subdivision code or major sea region), and local time zone offset from UTC — the fields that are reliably populated for the vast majority of ports worldwide.
Individual port pages provide much richer detail — geographic coordinates and a live map, current weather and marine conditions, terminal listings, classification (harbor type, shelter rating), operational data (pilotage, tugs, cranes, drydock, repair code), maximum vessel draft and size where published, real-time nearby AIS vessel traffic, nearby lighthouses and navigation aids within a 50 nautical mile radius, and frequently asked questions covering facilities, restrictions, communications, and historical vessel calls.
Use the search bar above to find ports by name, UN/LOCODE, or two-letter country code. The table columns are sortable — click any header to sort alphabetically. Type filters narrow the list to seaports, marinas, offshore terminals, or other facilities (anchorages, shelters, canals, fishing harbours).
