A 22-meter-high cylindrical steel tower, built in 1977, serves as the front range light at Poste St.-Martin. The original station was established in 1873, predating the current tower by over a century. It emits a continuous white light with a geographic range of 13.9 nautical miles, guiding mariners on the south side of the river, northeast of Saguenay. The tower is located 2.5 kilometers from the nearest port of Chicoutimi.
