About Midland Point Range Rear Lighthouse
This square pyramidal wood tower, standing 8.5 meters tall, was built around 1913. It is painted white with red trim and features a red vertical stripe along the former range line. The structure includes a lantern and gallery. Initially lit in 1900, it served as the rear light for a range system, working with a front light to guide vessels. The station became inactive in the late 1990s. The tower is now located at the end of Midland Point Road, north of Midland.
Why it matters: This lighthouse was part of a range system that provided precise directional guidance for ships navigating local waterways.
