A cylindrical concrete tower standing 10 meters tall was built in 1907 to mark the northern edge of Colombo's northern harbor entrance. It features a lantern and gallery, with the light positioned 13 meters above sea level. The lighthouse emits a single red flash. Its geographic range extends to 11.3 nautical miles. The structure is situated 0.7 kilometers from the nearest port of Colombo.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the north side of the northern entrance to Colombo's harbor, warning ships about the breakwater with its continuous red light.
