About Baclayon Lighthouse
This lighthouse, located on the pier at Baclayon along Bohol's south coast, emits a red flash every 5 seconds. The tower stands 12 meters above sea level, offering a geographic range of 11 nautical miles. Its bright yellow color was noted around 2010 and continued through 2015. By 2018, the structure displayed yellow and blue bands. Most recently, as of 2024, the tower is painted white with a blue horizontal band. While the site is open to the public, access to the tower itself is not permitted.
Why it matters: The lighthouse assists local shipping and fishing vessels navigating the south coast of Bohol and marks the pier at Baclayon.
