The Makassar Quay lighthouse is a black and white tower standing 66 meters tall, with its light positioned at 32 meters above sea level. Although the tower is closed to the public, the surrounding quay site is accessible. This aid to navigation has been inactive since 2020.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marked the southern end of Makassar harbor's main quay, assisting vessels navigating the busy shipping lanes in and out of the port.
