This square skeletal tower, 15 meters in height, was established in 2018 to guide vessels into Makassar's harbor. Painted green, it stands on the southern edge of a reef-lined passage. The lighthouse emits a green flash every three seconds. It is situated just 1.2 kilometers from the nearest port, Makassar. The site is accessible by boat, though the tower itself is not open to the public. This structure replaced an earlier, distinctively shaped tower.
Why it matters: The lighthouse warns of the fringing reef that narrows the shipping lane into Makassar's busy port.
