Located on the Ákra Molivos promontory, this white lighthouse stands about 2 kilometers northeast of Míthimna on the north coast of Lé sbos. The structure consists of a 4-meter round lantern, painted white, with a focal height of 27 meters. It emits an occulting white or green light on a 10-second cycle, visible for 14.7 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, providing views of the Aegean Sea toward Turkey's Cape Baba, which is 8 kilometers distant. The tower itself, however, remains closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the Ákra Molivos promontory, essential for safe passage between Lé sbos and the Turkish mainland. Its directional light offers critical guidance for vessels approaching the headland.
