Established in 1864, the Kalólimnos Lighthouse is located on the island's highest point, within the strait between Kalymnos and Turkey's Bodrum peninsula. The original structure features a 6-meter cylindrical stone tower with a lantern, attached to a single-story stone keeper's house. This historic light, built during Ottoman rule, is no longer active. A new operational light has been installed on a skeletal tower situated in front of the original stone building. The focal height of the original structure is 29 meters, with a geographic range of 15.1 nautical miles. The light characteristic for the current active aid is one white flash every 3 seconds.
