About Bokhocho Lighthouse
The Bokhocho lighthouse is a 10-meter tall cylindrical tower, painted green, situated on a reef off the harbor of Bokho. This small port is located at the southeastern end of Anjwado island in South Korea's South Jeolla region. Its light emits a single green flash every five seconds from a focal height of 14 meters, providing a geographic range of 11.6 nautical miles. The lighthouse structure is described as a round cylindrical tower. While the site is accessible to the public, the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse serves as a navigational aid, warning mariners of the reef hazard at the entrance to Bokho harbor and facilitating safe passage for vessels.
