This square stone tower, standing 26 meters tall, is painted with black and white horizontal bands. Built in 1894, it is situated on Ulenge Island, north of the Tanga Bay entrance. The lighthouse guides ships through the reef off Tanga. Its original Fresnel lens was destroyed by vandals, leading to the removal of the lantern and the tower falling into disrepair. However, the lighthouse has since been reactivated and its lantern reinstalled.
