Ben Tre is a canal port situated in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam. It serves as a local hub for maritime traffic, handling various cargo types. The port facilitates trade for the surrounding agricultural and industrial areas.
Background
Bến Tre is a city in the Vĩnh Long province in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam. In 2025, the Vietnamese government issued a resolution to merge the former Bến Tre Province with the rest of Vĩnh Long. Located 85 kilometers (53 mi) southwest of Ho Chi Minh City, the city covers an area of 65.75 km2 and has a population of 124,499 at the 2019 census.
