About Veganes Lighthouse
This cylindrical fiberglass tower, standing 5 meters high, was built in 2007 to replace an older wooden structure. It is located on a promontory near the northern terminal of the Highway 13 ferry crossing in the Sognefjord, northeast of Balestrand. The lighthouse emits an Oc WRG 4s light, providing sectors of white, red, and green illumination for navigation. Its focal height is 10 meters, and it has a geographic range of 10.4 nautical miles. The tower, painted white with a red lantern roof, features a gallery. While the site is open to visitors, the tower itself is closed.
