Uno Se lighthouse is a red, cylindrical concrete tower 11 meters in height, situated on a shoal at the entrance to Yamagawa's harbor. It carries a red triangular topmark above its light. The focal height of the light is 11.5 meters, and it emits a red flash every 3 seconds. The lighthouse is located on the western side of Kagoshima Bay, at the tip of the Satsuma Peninsula. It lies just 0.3 kilometers from Yamagawa, the nearest port.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns vessels away from the shoal in the harbor entrance, guiding them safely into Yamagawa's port.
