A white, cylindrical concrete tower, 12 meters tall, was built in 1991 on Tīngzishān island. It is clad in white ceramic tiles and features a gallery. The lighthouse stands at the southeastern point of the island, with its light positioned 39 meters above sea level. Its geographic range is 16.9 nautical miles, and it emits a single white flash every 4 seconds. The station was established in 1983, with the current structure lit for the first time in 1991. The nearest port is Liuheng, located 6.5 kilometers away.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks the southeastern point of Tīngzishān island, situated in the Tīngzi or Tingtsu Channel, a passage used by ships traveling the mainland coast inside the Zhōushān Islands.
