This white, cylindrical tower with red trim stands 7 meters tall, with its light positioned 10 meters above the water. It rises from a triangular, single-story equipment shelter and is situated at the extremity of a rubblestone breakwater extending south from the Môle St.-Louis. The light emits a red occulting flash every 4 seconds, visible for 10.4 nautical miles. This structure is approximately 1.7 kilometers from the port of Sète, its nearest port facility. The lighthouse is accessible only by boat, as the breakwater is not open to pedestrian traffic.
Why it matters: This lighthouse serves to guide vessels around the Môle St.-Louis and into the port of Sète, mitigating navigational hazards in this busy shipping lane.
