About Stallaren Lighthouse
Also known as: Stallaren (Stallareskjer)
The Stallaren lighthouse is positioned on a small island in Mokstrafjord, northwest of Selbjørn, in Norway's Vestland region. Its construction features a lantern and gallery set on tripod piles, reaching a height of 6.5 meters, with the light source at 9 meters. The tower is finished in white with a red roof. It displays a sector light, alternating between white, red, and green hues over a 6-second interval. This functioning navigation aid, with a 10-nautical-mile range, is situated near Austevoll. Visitors may access the site, but the tower is not open for entry.
Why it matters: Stallaren's sector light marks specific channels and navigational hazards in Mokstrafjord. Its foundation on tripod piles allows for effective placement on its island setting.
