A slender, cylindrical concrete tower with black and white horizontal bands stands 16 meters tall on St. George Island. This structure, built in 1977, replaced an earlier light established in 1956 on a skeletal tower. An external stairway spirals around the tower, leading to the lantern gallery. The lighthouse emits four white or red flashes every 20 seconds, with the color changing depending on the viewing direction. Its focal height reaches 93 meters above sea level, providing a geographic range of 24.1 nautical miles. The island is located about 8 kilometers south-southwest of Marmagão.
