About Sùpái Lighthouse
Also known as: Sùpái (Hutoumen Shuido)
This cylindrical concrete tower stands 10 meters tall with a focal height of 9 meters. It features a round shape covered in tiles, distinguished by black coloration and two red horizontal bands. The lighthouse emits a white light that flashes once every 5 seconds, providing a geographic range of 10 nautical miles. It is situated on a shoal near Hùtóu Zui, approximately 3.7 kilometers from the nearest port, Huizhou. The site is open for visitors, though access to the tower itself is restricted.
Why it matters: The Sùpái Lighthouse is essential for vessels entering the Huizhou harbor, warning them of the shoal near Hùtóu Zui. Its placement across from another light establishes a defined channel for maritime traffic.
