Located southwest of Bongamdo in South Korea's South Gyeongsang province, the Soyeo Lighthouse is situated on a reef. This active navigation mark has a round, strongly tapered concrete tower, 10 meters tall and painted red. The light produces a red flash every 4 seconds (Fl R 4s), visible for 10.7 nautical miles. It is positioned about 6 kilometers from Tongyeong-si.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks a reef off Bongamdo, providing a reference point for ships entering the waters near Tongyeong.
