About Seokcheon Hang East Breakwater Lighthouse
An octagonal red steel tower stands 9 meters tall on the east breakwater of a small boat harbor. With a focal height of 14 meters, it emits a red flash every 8 seconds, visible for 11.6 nautical miles. The structure is situated near the Kia automobile assembly plant on the north side of the Pyeongtaek harbor entrance. This light guides vessels into the harbor, which is approximately 4 kilometers from the nearest port of Pyeongtaek. While visitors can access the site, the tower itself remains closed to the public.
Why it matters: This light marks the eastern side of the harbor entrance, ensuring safe passage for small vessels navigating past industrial areas and into the boat harbor.
