About Sauzon Lighthouse
The Sauzon Lighthouse, a masonry tower built in 1859, stands on the west side of the harbor of Sauzon. This small port is located on the northwestern coast of Belle-Île. The lighthouse, which is 9 meters tall, emits a quick-flashing green light, visible for 10 nautical miles. Its white tower is topped with a green lantern and a black gallery rail. The site is open to visitors, but the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the western side of the Sauzon harbor entrance, guiding local vessels into the port on Belle-Île's coast.
