The site is accessible, though the tower itself is closed to visitors. Its geographic range extends 11.3 nautical miles.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the Sakiyama detached north breakwater, guiding vessels around the eastern tip of Fukue Shima and facilitating safe entry and exit from the local port.
