This cylindrical concrete tower, built in 2007, stands 19 meters tall with a focal height of 22 meters. It features red and white horizontal bands and is topped with a lantern and gallery, all centered on a square concrete base. The lighthouse replaced a previous 10-meter concrete structure that served the area. It emits a white flash every six seconds, visible for 13.6 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, though access to the tower itself is restricted.
Why it matters: The lighthouse guides vessels navigating Puerto López Mateos, supporting both local fishing operations and the whale-watching tourism industry within the Whale Sanctuary of El Vizcaino.
