About Port of Fujairah Lighthouse
This cylindrical white lighthouse stands 10 meters tall on a hill approximately 1.2 kilometers west of the harbor. Its light is positioned 94 meters above sea level and emits a white flash every 5 seconds, visible for up to 24.2 nautical miles. The structure is described as a square cylindrical white tower. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) previously listed a different tower at this location before removing the entry after 2011. The lighthouse remains operational, guiding vessels into the port.
Why it matters: The lighthouse aids maritime traffic entering and exiting the Port of Fujairah, a significant bunkering and oil export hub on the UAE's east coast. Its elevated position ensures the light is visible over a wide area, assisting ships in safely approaching the busy harbor.
