About Outagamie County (Fox River) Lighthouse Lighthouse
This lighthouse is located on the north bank of the Fox River in Appleton, Wisconsin. Constructed as part of a $500,000 expansion project to support increased river use, it began operation in 2012. The structure emits a white flashing light from a focal plane of 36 feet. It continues to serve as an active navigational aid, integrated into the facilities of the Appleton Yacht Club. Access to the site is permitted, though visitor access to the tower itself is uncertain.
Why it matters: This light assists recreational boaters navigating the Fox River, marking the location of the Appleton Yacht Club in response to growing leisure traffic on the waterway.
