About Ostrov Trambetskogo Lighthouse
The Ostrov Trambetskogo lighthouse is an octagonal concrete tower standing 6 meters tall, with its light positioned 20 meters above sea level. Painted white, it emits a single white flash every 3 seconds, visible for a distance of 13.2 nautical miles. This structure replaced an earlier light established in 1896 on the nearby Mys Trambetskogo headland. The lighthouse is situated on a small, rocky skerry approximately 8 kilometers by sea from the nearest port of Fokino. While the tower is closed to the public, the surrounding site is accessible.
Why it matters: This lighthouse serves to guide vessels through the eastern approach to Strelok Bay and warns of the skerry on which it stands.
