This hexagonal fiberglass tower, standing 8.5 meters tall on a concrete pile, aids navigation at the northern end of the Oslofjord. Its light is positioned 7 meters above sea level and emits a red flash every three seconds, visible for 9.3 nautical miles. The lighthouse is situated southwest of Heggholmen, marking a passage through a group of islands north of Heggholmen and south of Lingøy. It replaced an earlier structure that stood on a stone pier. The current lighthouse guides vessels through the central approach to the Oslo harbor.
