The Oho Hang West Breakwater light, built in 2021, is a white, cylindrical concrete tower standing 10 meters high. Situated at the end of the west breakwater in Oho-ri, within Gangwon State, it marks the harbor entrance. The light reaches a focal height of 12 meters and has a geographic range of 11 nautical miles. Its green light serves as a visual guide for vessels approaching the port of Sokcho, located 8.5 kilometers away.
Why it matters: This light clearly marks the western extent of the breakwater, providing a critical visual cue for safe passage into Oho-ri harbor, especially for local fishing vessels.
