About Nánshāntóu Tourist Pier Lighthouse
This square concrete tower, built in 2009, stands 12 meters tall and is topped with a lantern and gallery. It is situated at the end of a pier extending from the north side of the Nánshāntóu headland in Qinhuangdao. The lighthouse emits a white flash every 15 seconds from a focal height of 15 meters, visible for nearly 12 nautical miles. This structure replaced an earlier light mounted on a yellow post. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse guides vessels approaching the Nánshāntóu Tourist Pier, ensuring safe navigation for local traffic near the headland.
