About Náncáodōng Shuǐwèizhàn (Southeast Tide Station) Lighthouse
The Náncáodōng Shuǐwèizhàn, designated the Southeast Tide Station, was constructed and first illuminated in 2003. This cylindrical concrete structure reaches a height of 21 meters, with its light positioned at the same elevation. The tower displays a color scheme with its lower section yellow and its upper section black. The light emits a sequence of four yellow flashes over a 12-second period. The construction comprises a square skeletal section placed above a round concrete cylindrical base.
Why it matters: This station marks the approach to the Yangtze River estuary and coastal paths near Nánhuìjiāo. Its role as a tide station also provides data for maritime navigation and environmental observation in this busy coastal region.
