About Nagato City Lighthouses Lighthouse
This lighthouse was established in 1976 on the north side of Yuya Bay in Nagato City. The structure is an 11-meter concrete post with a square lantern room, painted white. It emits a continuous white light with a geographic range of 24.3 nautical miles. The light is situated about 1 kilometer east of the Tawara Shima lighthouse. The lighthouse illuminates the Funa Se reef, a submerged hazard.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns vessels about the Funa Se reef, an underwater obstruction, and helps define safe passage within Yuya Bay.
