About Mys Abrek Lighthouse
Mys Abrek lighthouse is an octagonal tower painted white, standing 5 meters tall. Located on the tip of a promontory, it marks the western entrance to Abrek Bay. Photographs from 2013 show this octagonal structure, indicating a change from its earlier documented form as a skeletal tower. The lighthouse was operational before 1973 and is noted as being inactive since around 1980. Its current operational status is unknown.
Why it matters: The lighthouse once guided vessels entering Abrek Bay, warning them of the dangers at the bay's western entrance.
