About Måløy-Skarholmen Lighthouse
Established in 1922, the Måløy-Skarholmen Lighthouse is a concrete and cast iron structure standing 34 meters tall. Its cylindrical tower, painted red with a single white horizontal band, supports a lantern and gallery. The lighthouse complex includes a two-story keeper's house. It is situated on a small skerry approximately 20 kilometers north of Bodø, marking the entry to the upper Vestfjord. The light emits two white flashes every 8 seconds and has a geographic range of 17.4 nautical miles. Automation of the station occurred in 1979.
