The Mio Oshima lighthouse is located on a small island northwest of Hamasaka village. It is a white, round, cylindrical concrete tower measuring 8.5 meters tall. A gallery joins the tower to a connected one-story equipment building. The lighthouse produces a white flash every four seconds, with its light reaching 21.5 nautical miles. Access to the island is via boat.
